The Friends’ Council of the Atlanta University Center (AUC) Robert W. Woodruff Library is a diverse group of advocates who passionately support the AUC Woodruff Library. The Council sponsors community engagement activities sharing the story of the Library to build awareness and help it reach greater success.
Our Mission
Through its membership and strategic partnering, the Friends’ Council:
- strengthens and supports initiatives that provide opportunities for individuals to explore their common interests in the information, literary and cultural activities of the AUC Woodruff Library
- encourages gifts and bequests
- assists in special projects
- aids in the development of Library special collections
Membership Types and Benefits
Student – $20
Invitation to events, receipt of newsletter, voting privilege in the annual membership meeting
Regular – $40
All of the above, receipt of reports, extended building access to library resources
Patron – $150
All of the above, limited book borrowing privileges, listing in library publications, personalized bookplate
Lifetime (Individual) – $500
All of the above, space reservation privileges, ex-officio member of the Friends’ Council Executive Committee
Donor (Corporate or non-profit) – $1000 or more

Student, Regular, and Patron memberships must be renewed annually at the beginning of the Library’s fiscal year on July 1. Membership fees are tax deductible, with all proceeds used by the Friends’ Council to support AUC Woodruff Library programs.
The Friends’ Council is a diverse group of volunteers with a wide range of talents, areas of influence and community activism. They are seeking new members with insight, expertise and enthusiasm to contribute.
